I forgot my PIN
- On the lock screen, tap Forgot PIN? If the calculator disguise is on, press and hold the calculator's display instead.
- If you set a security question, answer it on the Security question tab and choose a new PIN.
- Otherwise open the Developer code tab. You may first be asked to watch a few short ads; if none can be shown, the request unlocks by itself. Tap Email the developer and send the email as it is: it already holds your device ID and request number, and the reply with your code is sent automatically. Enter the 8-character code in the app. A code works once and expires after 24 hours.
If no email app opens, copy the Device ID and the Request number from that screen and send them to faizehmat.dae@gmail.com, the address the button writes to.
Opening the vault from the calculator
With Calculator disguise turned on in Settings, the app's icon and name become a calculator's, and the app opens as a working calculator. Type your PIN and press =. There is deliberately no button that reveals the vault, so note your PIN before you turn the disguise on.
Keeping your files
There is no account, and the app does not upload your photos, videos or files anywhere: the vault is stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes everything in it, and we have no copy we could restore. Before you uninstall or change phones, take out what you want to keep: Save to gallery for photos and videos, Share for files.
Ads and privacy settings
- The app is free and paid for by ads. Watching one ad on the Support the app screen gives you an hour with no ads at all.
- Where the law requires a choice, Google's consent form asks for it, and Settings → Ad privacy settings reopens it at any time.
- On iPhone and iPad, Apple's own prompt asks whether the app may track you. Saying no changes nothing but how relevant the ads are.
